Foodies, Transform Your Kitchen Into A Cooking Paradise!

Sunday, February 05, 2017

If you’re a foodie, there’s one room in the house that should be incredible - your kitchen. It shouldn’t just be a practical space or a stylish space; it should combine practicality and style, giving you the most incredible space to cook in. After all, if you spend a lot of time in the kitchen because food is your passion, you need a space that’s inspiring, don’t you?

So, with that in mind, below are some tips and ideas for transforming your kitchen into a cooking paradise.

Add a sense of comfort with seating

Do you spend most of your time in your kitchen, whether it’s cooking or relaxing? If the answer is yes, then you should definitely consider making it a more comfortable space. Yes, kitchens need to be practical places that are easy to keep clean, but that doesn’t mean that they can’t also be comfortable. If you’ve got a spare corner of the room that doesn’t get used, why not add a comfortable armchair and coffee table to it, so that you can relax with a coffee while you keep an eye on whatever delicious dish you’re in the process of making? Or, if you’ve got an island counter with stools by it, why not add a couple of throw cushions to these, to make the stools more comfortable to sit on?

Upgrade your lighting

Is your kitchen a little dark at times? Then perhaps it would be a good idea to upgrade your lighting. If you want to make your kitchen a cooking paradise, then you need to have good quality lighting in place. So, if the lighting that you have isn’t doing the job, it could be time for an upgrade. For kitchens, spotlights tend to be the best option, as that way you don’t have to worry about keeping lampshades clean and grease-free.

Ensure you’ve got all the right equipment

The chances are, if you love to cook, your kitchen is packed full of all the best cooking gadgets and gizmos. However, if for any reason you lack equipment, now is the time to invest in those crucial pieces. Perhaps you’ve got plenty of cooking equipment, but a few items have become a little old and worn - if so, it’s best to update and replace them. One thing that should be updated every couple of years is your pots and pans, especially if they get a lot of use. As many pots and pans aren’t made to last for long periods of time, and so, their non-stick coatings begin to come off. However, if you choose to invest in can iron pans or granite frying pans and woks, you may pay more, but your pans will last for much longer as there’s no coating to come off.

Use accessories to add style

One of the best ways to add a sense of style to your kitchen is via accessories. Pick out a selection of cute, quirky items that will work well with the theme of your kitchen and dot them around to add a sense of extra style. Think non-slip rugs, pretty coffee coasters, unique chopping boards, printed tea towels, patterned curtains, pretty throw pillows - there are lots of options.

To overhaul your kitchen and create a cooking paradise, take note of the tips and ideas above.
