While it is winter, it’s fair to say that our exterior of our homes can get a little neglected. We can get a little distracted by other things going on like Christmas or New year, but this is the perfect time to give the exterior of your home a bit of a spruce up. Yes, winter provides colder temperatures, but that doesn’t mean to say you can’t get outside and do a few home improvements. So here are some top tips to help you improve your home’s curb appeal.

Make those windows sparkle

It’s all well and good tidying the outside, but if the windows look dirty and dusty or even outdated then your home won’t give off the right impression. So if you have the time, then it’s a good idea to clean those windows. You won’t believe the difference sparkling windows can make. Most neighborhoods have a window cleaner service that will be able to keep on top of this job for you. Another Idea would be to replace them completely, this could save you a fortune on your energy bills. Check out companies like Northwest Exteriors for more information.

Take care of your driveway

Your driveway can get cluttered quite easily. Things like leaves or debris from fallen trees, especially after the Winter months. Even left tools that you have used can make a driveway look untidy and unkempt. So a great tip is to tidy the mess away and keep on top of things. Sometimes this job may need doing more often that usual. Obviously, this may need to be done more often at different times of the year. It doesn’t take a long time to tidy everything away but can make a huge difference to the exterior of your property.

Get rid of fallen leaves and debris

Sometimes it is the simplest of tasks that make a huge difference. In one respect, the outside of your home is where a simple thing can make a house look more presentable. For example, getting a brush out and tidying away fallen leaves or debris for one. A simple task that may require half an hour of your time. It could also mean tidying things away that have been left out. Even things like steam cleaning your drive and foot paths. The Winter can take it’s toll on things like that. But a good steam clean could brighten up for the Summer.

Steam clean the brick or exterior paintwork

You could consider getting a heavy duty steam cleaner and giving your bricks or any exterior paintwork a good clean. This can instantly brighten your home and give it immediate curb appeal.

Think about the lawn

Does your lawn look like it has seen better days? You are not alone. Especially coming out of the winter months where you don’t have the time or weather to look after it. So now, more than ever, is a great time to give it a little TLC. This could mean adding a treatment to help it grow. This could also feed it and treat it making it a more prominent green color.

If you are lucky to have still a healthy lawn the mowing it will instantly make your front garden look presentable. Taking the time also to trim the edges and cut back to the flowerbeds will neaten it up. Once you have done the mammoth task of doing it once it will be much easier to maintain.

I hope these top tips help you improve your home’s curb appeal.
