Bored With Where You Live? Here's Why You Should Relocate Somewhere New!

Wednesday, November 02, 2016

Relocating to a new area can be a scary prospect for many people. We grow up in the safety and security of our parent's home and are familiar with just about everything in our neighbourhood. Humans are creatures that love familiarity. We instinctively feel fear or uncertainty when we are thrust into a situation that we aren't used to. It is this love of all things familiar that stops so many people from moving away to other towns, cities and even states. A report carried out by the Pew Research Centre found that 57% of adults have never lived out of their current state, and 37% still live in their hometowns. Of course, there is nothing wrong with this. Many of us simply love living close to family, and others may live in a particularly prosperous place. But if you're considering a move to somewhere new, here's what you need to consider.

Career opportunities

One of the main reasons why people move cities and states is in the search for a new job. More and more people are in competition for the same roles. Therefore, sometimes moving to a fresh area where you have a different background to everyone else can work to your advantage. You may also want to move to a new place due to the type of jobs that are available due you. Maybe you live in a busy city district where surrounded by high-rise banks, brokers and business buildings. Perfect if you want a job in this sector, of course; but not so great if you want nothing more than to work in agriculture! Your dream job might not be sitting on your current doorstep, so it is worth spreading your search wider in order to find what suits you.

Better housing

The housing market is a complex one that is very difficult to be able to judge and predict. But if you're buying your first home, or even just renting to move out of your parents, you might need to think about relocating. Many major cities showcase extortionate rental prices - such as San Francisco, which tops the list of high rents with a 2 bed costing over $4000 a month. If you're looking to buy in a city such as Washington, you are looking at paying around three times the national average. Therefore, a lot of people are actually saving money by moving out of their hometown to somewhere cheaper, in terms of housing. Don't panic if you have found a property in your price range but it's ages away. Contact trusted interstate removalists, who will be able to safely transport all your possessions door to door.

Culture

Unlike other countries, America is unique in the sense culture can differ from state to state; even though every state belongs to the same country. With this in mind, it's important to remember that every state has its own unique culture that will appeal to different people. Maybe you love the buzz of New York City - or maybe you prefer the relaxed vibes that a state like Tennessee has to offer. Berkeley is becoming increasingly popular with young hipsters, and Wyoming is great for people who love nature. Whatever interests you, you're sure to find a place that can reflect your personality.
