Baby It's Cold Outside! 3 Fabulous Outdoor Date Ideas That Are Perfect For Winter

Tuesday, November 15, 2016

It’s no secret that going on dates during the winter can be a little more challenging. You can no longer take romantic walks or go on picnics together due to the cold and unpredictable weather. This is why many couples opt for indoors dates such as cinema trips and meals out during this season. You might even choose not to go out at all and stay within the warmth of your home instead. But if you and your date are willing to embrace the cold, there are plenty of unforgettable dates you can experience together. So if you don’t want to spend all winter inside, here are some beautiful outdoor dates you should try.

Go ice-skating

Ice-skating is a brilliant winter activity to experience whether you are on your first date or your fiftieth. It’s an opportunity for you both to show off your skating skills and to act like big kids. Even if you’ve never been ice-skating before, it will be fun for your date to teach you or vice versa. While there are indoor rinks you could visit, nothing will get you in a Christmassy mood more than an outdoor rink. These are often set up temporarily in the run-up to the holidays, and there is probably at least one in your local area. So find out where it is, grab your skates and start your date.

Toast s’mores by the fire

If you want to enjoy each other’s company without the distraction of TV’s or other people, this is the perfect date for you. Cuddling up together by a fire outside is a romantic way of getting to know each other better. You can share stories, talk about your day and laugh at each other’s jokes. This date idea wouldn’t be complete without hot chocolate, s’mores and any other warm treats you both enjoy too.

To create a fire, build a simple bonfire or buy a fire pit for your yard. Make sure you know how to light the fire safely and keep it burning throughout your evening. Boost the comfort of your yard even more with thick blankets and oversized pillows you can sit on with your date. This will ensure you are both warm and comfortable to spend all night outside.

Build a snowman

If you experience snow each winter where you live, building a snowman is a wonderful date idea. You and your date can create each other in snow form, or you can build a big snowman together. This is a chance for you to work as a team, but also have fun in the process. You could also go sledding together which is another excellent winter date idea.

If you don't live somewhere that gets snow during the winter, use this as an excuse for a road trip. You and your date can travel somewhere that does and enjoy a weekend having snowball fights and building snowmen. Finish your date by enjoying a mulled wine or cider to warm up your hands.

As you can see, you don’t have to spend all winter cooped up indoors together. There is plenty of fun and romance to be found outside, despite how cold it might be.
