Cheat Your Way To Confidence

Confidence is a state of mind. It's so important to wake up each and every day with a fresh perspective. Some days it's easier to do that than others. As much as everyone loves the fall and winter time, it’s easy to miss the freedom and the lighter evenings of the summer. When experiencing a hard day there's no doubt about it; confidence can suffer. It can be hard to stay positive all the time, so follow these tips to keep your self-esteem high and fly!

Stand tall

If you slump, not only will your back suffer but your confidence will dip. It's been scientifically proven that if you walk tall and hold your end up high, you'll feel better. It's so easy to spot the person who is feeling a little low; their shoulders will be hunched and they'll usually be looking at the ground. Roll your shoulders back, lift your head up and hold yourself with pride. Even if you're not feeling your best, adopting this pose will encourage a brighter outlook - try it!

Learn something new

Breaking the monotony of an everyday routine can breath new life into your soul. You don't have to suddenly start reading the dictionary or sign yourself up to a 3-year course; just downloading a new app can help! There are some great trivia apps around, and if you sign-up to Highbrow emails you’ll learn something new every morning. Learning something new, even if it's only a little thing, will instantly increase your sense of self-satisfaction.

Tidy your apartment

In theory, we should all live by the rule, tidy house tidy mind. Sure, a duvet day watching Netflix feels good but if the space around you is messy, your head will just feel disorganized. Take out the trash, wash up your bowls and do some washing. It's amazing how nailing these simple chores will lift your mood. Always start with your most hated chore first to get it out of the way and then move on to the easier things. Once you complete the basics, you might even feel like moving your furniture around to adopt the practices of Feng Shui!

Set and achieve a daily goal

These don't have to be huge - it's important to remember that. It can be something simple like texting your friend back or replying to all your urgent emails. Do something every day that makes me feel proud, which sounds a little cheesy but it will keep you in good stead. Sometimes a daily goal could be to write 3 blog posts and sometimes it's to just change the bed sheets. To achieve whatever goal you've set will certainly increase your happy thoughts.

Smile with pride

Smiling is so important! If you drink a ton of coffee and your teeth are suffering, book yourself a cosmetic dentistry appointment. A healthy and gleaming smile will only make you want to smile more. If your lips are chapped, treat yourself to a new lip balm to soften them up pose for some selfies. The more you work on yourself, the better about yourself you'll feel.

Turn up the music

Dancing like nobody's watching is one of the best ways to get the endorphins pumping. A great song and a happy dance will increase those positive affirmations and get the blood pumping. So dance until your heart’s content!
