5 Ways You Can Be The Queen Of Alfresco Dining

Tuesday, August 16, 2016

The summer still here, and you want to plan an outdoor party to make the most of the weather. You know everyone loves a barbeque, but you decide you might try out something a bit different. We’ve got it covered with 5 ways you can be the queen of alfresco dining this summer.

1. Host a picnic

This is a great idea for a casual dinner party and means that everyone can bring something with them that they’d like to eat and share. You can make sandwiches and wraps quickly, and when combined with a big bowl of salad and a cheeseboard, it can look like you have spent ages on it. If you are short on time, this is perfect as you can spend more time catching up with your friends and less time stressing out at the grill.

2. Afternoon tea

If you don’t fancy the idea of cooking in the hot temperatures, then an afternoon tea party could be a fun way to dine outdoors. If everyone brings a different cake with them, then there will be something for everyone. You can supply the coffee and teas, and maybe a few finger sandwiches, or if you’re feeling adventurous, then you can add some champagne to give the party a more luxurious feel.

3. Barbeque

One of the best ideas when it comes to outdoor dining is the humble barbeque. Very few people can resist the taste of meat that has been finished over the sizzling coals, and it keeps everyone happy. However, it doesn’t mean that you have to be slaving over the grill all afternoon. There are some great new ideas to cook meat out there, such as hot stone products which once heated over the barbeque, carry on cooking the steak for you. These are a fantastic way to impress your guests and ensure that things are cooked the way they like them.

4. Cocktail party

A cocktail party is a great and unique idea when it comes to alfresco dining. If you get a few mixers and spirits such as vodka or gin, then you will be able to have fun creating cocktails. This brings everyone together as you will have a great time experimenting with flavours, although just be careful you don’t pour too much alcohol in and get everyone drunk! You could always make some canapés to soak up the alcohol, or cheat and buy them from your local shop. No one needs to know they’re not your own handiwork.

5. Think outside the box

If you find yourself struggling for ideas, then you could suggest that you have your party at a local venue. That way you don’t have to worry about cleaning up afterwards, and no one will ruin the garden with their high heeled shoes. You could keep it simple and just go to your favourite pub and sit outside, or you could book a grand function room to impress your guests. All that’s left to do then is enjoy the sun.
