Surf's Up

What the world needs now is not another penguin movie, it would seem, following the animated "Happy Feet" and the documentary "March of the Penguins," both Oscar winners, as well as the spoof "Farce of the Penguins" and movies like "Madagascar" in which penguins steal the show. But this one's so different from its predecessors, and so different from the slew of animated films that have come out in the past couple of years, it's hard not to be charmed.

Penguins are the new Bambis, we have endured singing, wisecracking and even tap-dancing versions. Now, treading eagerly on the flippers of last year's "Happy Feet," comes "Surf's Up," a computer-animated comedy featuring birds on boards. Directed by Ash Brannon and Chris Buck (both contributed to the screenplay), "Surf's Up" has a friendly, blue-collar vibe (Cody is an ex-fish-sorter from the Shiverpool, Antarctica) and some sly, low-key humor. Nevertheless, a moratorium on penguins might be called for, despite the inevitable anthropomorphic void.

First they marched, then they tap-danced. Now they ride the waves on souped-up boards. Penguin's show, here they come!

Travel Journal - Hong Kong trip

Finally, my little escape journey is up .. Next travel log will be China and Cambodia. During my summer vocation, I took a recent trip to Hong Kong with my mom and brother for shopping. We traveled to Hong Kong (and returned) via the China-Airline. It is a 5 hours long journey each way.

For those not familiar with the former British Crown Colony of Hong Kong: Hong Kong is a Special Administrative Region (SAR) of the People's Republic of China. The former colony consists of three principle areas; Hong Kong Island, Lantau Island and the "main land" area consisting of Kowloon and "the New Territories." The principle Cities are Victoria on Hong Kong Island, Kowloon on the mainland peninsula and Tueng Chung on Lantau Island.

Once we arrived in Hong Kong we took a travel bus (Bus drivers in Hong Kong understand English for the most part) to the Women Street in the village. Women Street has a market square with many small merchants selling a variety of merchandise at very good prices. But unfortunately, it was raining.. ARH!! After Women Street, we went to Xing Guang Da Dao and Tai Ping Shan. Before that we had a dinner in the restaurant nearby, our main course is Shen Jing Fried Duck! In Tai Ping Shan, we went to Du Li Sha Wax Museum. I was an awesome experience. I can't believe I still got a chance to take a picture with TheBeatles!

Later on, we went to Shan Ding for Hong Kong night scene. Oh Gosh. Beautiful ...

I would love to stay in Hong Kong if I'm a billionaire. We returned to downtown Hong Kong having the bus take us to Hong Kong's premier famous night life, Lan Kuai Fong.

Lan Kuai Fong is a very popular night life spot in HK, you always can see lots of European and American walking around or drinking in the bar/pub. It does feel like I was in New York somehow. The trip to Hong Kong also included a journey to Chuan Wan, Fisherman's village(Shui Shang Ren Jia), Jacky Chan's apartment,
Hong Kong's Disneyland and many more.

By the way, here's a picture I would like to share with you guys. My brother took it when we having dinner in Tsui Wan's restaurant. Look at the fish..lol

Second Chances

Just feel like writing. My feeling at this moment.

Sometimes you have to think,
Pull up a chair, have a drink.
Sure there has been bad,
It started off great and then turned sad.

But through the bad there has been a light,
forever in your mind, growing bright.
You're happier now then you were before,
But that's probably because you knew when to say, "No more".

Time has passed and you feel like you know it all,
You feel you know if and when you're going to fall.
But maybe you don't know everything,
You could easily go back to the days of cry, not sing.

But I repeat, time has passed,
Personality seems to have changed compared to what you saw last.
Hours and days been spent saying "sorry", "I love you".
In terms of second chances, would that do?

You know when you have had to be tough,
You know when you have had to say, "Enough is enough"
You know if you say "come back" and it all goes wrong,
Can you honestly say you're going to be as strong?

I know, I say again, time has passed,
The image has changed to what you noticed last.
But is it all just a facade? Do you really have a clue?
Can you really forgive and forget, second chances, is that what you'd do?

Don't you think everyone should have a second chances?

Happy Birthday Apple + Ipoh Ice Ice Baby

Saturday, June 23st, was my friend Apple Cheng Peng's birthday party.
We gathered together in Ice Ice Baby for drinks and snacks and presents. All my friends were there.
Me, Wei Mun and Mandy gave Apple a bottol of red California wine. (I choose this wine) :P
Yep, Shirley and Ansen's turn. Apple received his favorite present! A green limited edition T-Shirt.
We spent many happy moments hanging out together, talking pictures with each other, making funny faces and recording. We were so loud and wild in the restaurant. lol

I'm so very pleased that once again I had the sweetest moments with my dear friends.
Shirley, Elena, Wei Mun, Lai Leng, Phoebe, Mandy, Seong Fei, Ansen, Apple and Kok Leong...

30 Hour Famine

30 hour famine is an international youth movement to fight hunger. It will bring us closer together, feed hungry children, and change our world forever. The year 2007 marks the 10th year of World Vision Malaysia’s service to children, made possible by the partnership of Malaysian individuals and organizations.

To celebrate this important milestone, World Vision Malaysia hopes to expand and extend the 30-Hour Famine event beyond its current scale.

To commemorate the anniversary, Famine participants will be given a deeper understanding of children’s rights and a review of how their contributions have made a difference in children’s lives over the years.
We hope to invite all to come and experience how each one of us can participate in bringing about real changes in a hungry child’s life.

18 and ABO"U"E

I have nothing against bad English. SillyDrunkFish has never been good in English. In fact, I think its very much a person to speak and write English in a less than perfect manner.

O.o Well last week I went to Berjaya Times Square because I thought it was the best time for me to shopping since I came back from Cambodia. (Sure I need a SPH 70+++ sunblock). I was passing the department store but I realized something caught my attention. Oh also, kedai cakera padat? or kedai T'shirt? O.o

Ocean's 13 movie review

Last weekend me and Victor went to see Ocean's 13 in PJ's cinema. Well, if you are familiar with the Ocean's series, you can't wait to see Danny Ocean and his rascally gang is back. This time in a heist whose motive is not gain - at least not monetary gain - but revenge! A pretty serious movie.
So Oceans 13 it was ...
The movie has some real cool characters, thieves. Danny (George Clooney), Rusty (Brad Pitt) and Linus (Matt Damon) - driving the planning and laying the setup and go all out to take revenge when their friend Reuben (Elliott Gould) is cheated in a real estate deal by Willie Banks, the ruthless casino owner (Al Pacino). What a great casts! I guess they were more than half the attraction.
In conclusion, it was a great movie. The film itself was pretty entertaining, good sense of humor, smooth and well laid out. Everyone in the movie pretty much did their parts, but Brad looked a little tired. I though it had a romantic entanglement, but it wasn't what I thought. I like the "Big nose guy" which I don't remember his name. He is very funny and full of entertainment in the movie.
So, it was a good movie. At least I would choose to see this movie rather than 200 pounds beauty. (Korean movie)

The day before I left New York City

It was friday morning. I woke up early and take a D train up to Manhattan 34 street. I toke a long walk to Union Square, one of my favorite place on the earth. I had a great time and now it is time for me to take a rest. It's been a long year, but anyway, summer is here and now finally I can take a break from everything. A little escape journey will be up soon!
How do you like New York University? I do. I would do anything to get a MBA from NYU
I rather choose NYPD over than Malaysia's "mata mata"
He really did reminds me of my family !
I met a very cool band in the 34 street subway station. Here's the small video that I would love to share with you.

Summer Vocation

What have happened over the past week? What have I done? I been travel to SIngapore, Hong Kong, China, Shen Zhen and recently just came back from Cambodia. It was an awesome experiences. Can't wait to share with you guys! Peace.
